As a CAD Modeller, you will play a critical role in visualizing and developing detailed drawings and models that bring architectural, engineering, or construction concepts to life. Position Summary:

The CAD Modeller will be responsible for creating 2D drawings and 3D models for construction, infrastructure, mechanical, or architectural projects, depending on the company’s focus. You will collaborate closely with engineers, architects, project managers, and design teams to produce accurate and detailed CAD models that align with project specifications and deadlines.

This role requires technical proficiency in CAD software, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop accurate and detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, or other relevant software.
  • Interpret architectural and engineering drawings and convert conceptual sketches into technical models.
  • Collaborate with design teams to ensure all drawings and models meet project requirements, standards, and timelines.
  • Maintain and organize CAD files and documentation in accordance with internal processes and project guidelines.
  • Participate in design reviews and coordinate changes as required by engineers or architects.
  • Detect and resolve potential design clashes or inconsistencies early in the modelling phase.
  • Generate technical documentation and support project submissions with properly annotated and dimensioned drawings.
  • Update models based on mark-ups, revisions, and feedback from project leads.
  • Ensure all designs are compliant with local codes, project specifications, and industry standards.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a CAD Modeller, CAD Technician, or Draftsman in architecture, civil, mechanical, or structural disciplines.
  • Proficiency in one or more CAD software platforms, such as:
    • AutoCAD
    • Revit
    • Civil 3D
    • SolidWorks
    • SketchUp or Navisworks (an added advantage)
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, layouts, design symbols, and standards.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems (depending on sector).
  • Ability to interpret complex design information and translate it into clear models and drawings.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively under tight deadlines.

Education:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology, Design, or a related field.
  • CAD certification or training from a recognized institute is an advantage.
